Last month Seth and I invited a number of NYC's top singers and musicians to be our choir on "Hallelujah", a song I wrote to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's Disease. It was an incredible afternoon.  We filmed the recording session and are currently pursuing various ways to proceed with this project.  Can't wait to share the song with all of you.

It was so much fun, that our friend Valerie Ghent, who runs a monthly

songwriter's night at Cornelia Street Cafe, will present:

"Hallelujah"

Songwriter's Beat

Wed. Feb. 17 @ 8:30pm

featuring - from the "Hallelujah Choir":

Breathe and Boogie - August 29, 2007

Seth and I have been performing with the wonderful Brady Rymer and The Little Band That Could, and if you haven't had a chance to hear us yet, this might be your lucky fall as we embark on a FREE 12-city tour sponsored by Children's Dimetapp!

Breathe & Boogie !!
(I couldn't have made that one up!)

We did our first show last weekend in Chicago to great fanfare. It was a travel travesty, but we had spectacular weather and I have to say they've done a terrific job with activities for the kids, treats for the grownups, and free copies of an all-new, six-song Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could compilation CD.

We're especially looking forward catching up with friends and family around the country - the greatest perk of the job!

Here are some details:

9/8: Maryland Science Center, Baltimore @ 12 noon
9/15: World Cafe Live, Philadelphia @ 11:30am

A sneak peek
- March 23, 2007

The past year has kept us very busy. Summer/fall of ‘06 we took some songs Seth and Joey (our son) had been writing and decided to record them – mostly to preserve that moment in time. The further we got into the process, the more we realized these songs, and Joey, deserved a full production, rock band, packaging… the works. The result is absolutely thrilling, and I swear, I’m not just being a proud mom, wife, co-producer, back-up singer and cover art designer… ok, perhaps my perspective is a bit skewed, so why don’t you check out a couple of the tracks on the “listen” page and tell us what you think.

So, "Joey Farber: The Early Years" ate up much of our time (as does Joey Farber, the individual) however we have managed to scratch the surface on some new projects.

Firstly – following up on an idea I’ve been mulling over for a number of years, I finally recorded four French opera arias, singing as I sing with “alternative” instrumentation i.e. acoustic guitar, accordion, bass, dobro, etc. I’ve gotten great feedback, and a few of my friends are sending them around. I’ve uploaded one of them to the “listen” page for the curious among you.

Second – we’ve started recording some of my new tunes as well as some of those long neglected.

Third – Seth knows it’s his turn to make a new CD - and that’s the first step…

Fourth – Although we haven’t been out touring much in support of our own music, we have been busy performing – Seth still tours with Odetta, and plays keyboards and conducts in the Broadway show “Hairspray”. And we’ve both been touring with the wonderful kid’s performer Brady Rymer and The Little Band That Could. We’re currently recording his fifth CD and hope to hit the road with a national tour in the fall. I’ll definitely keep you posted on that. In the meantime you can check us all out in Brady’s new I Found It video

That’s all for now.
Please feel free to drop us a note.
We’d love to hear from you.

Liz
