The back story:
A few years back, my mother-in-law gave me a book of poetry by Edna St. Vincent Millay for my birthday. Never much of a poetry reader, it sat on a shelf, until one day, frustrated with a spell of writer's block, I decided as an exercise, to compose to a poem. I fetched the birthday book off the shelf, opened it at random and composed to the words on the page - and loved it, both the experience and the result. The next day I turned the page and wrote another. I soon became enthralled with the life and works of the unconventional, bohemian Millay (1892-1950). I devoured every written word by or about her - biographies, letters, plays, poems, articles - even her journals at the Library of Congress. Soon enough my husband, Seth, joined me, bringing his own beautiful and fascinating musical spin to the words. Together we've visited her home, walked through her woods, and together we've embarked on this thrilling journey we call The Edna Project. ...Liz
